Big, bulky items are our specialty
Whether it’s an upright or a grand piano, a gun safe, a hot tub or a fridge going up a narrow staircase, we have the equipment and the experience to move it without damage to the item, your house or anybody’s back.
Heavy items are about planning. Before moving day we want to know what the item is, roughly what it weighs, and the full route out: doorways, steps, slopes, gates and tight turns. That tells us how many movers to send and what equipment to bring, from piano boards and heavy-duty dollies to straps and ramps.
“I had them move my grand piano. They were soo careful, and did a fabulous job!!”
- Pianos
- Uprights and grands
- Safes
- Gun safes and home safes
- Hot tubs
- Out of the yard and onto the truck
- Also
- Appliances, gym equipment, oversized furniture

How we handle each one
Grand pianos
The legs and lyre come off, the body is wrapped in blankets and plastic, and the piano is strapped on its side to a piano board for the move.
Upright pianos
Padded on every side and moved on a dolly, with extra hands on stairs and thresholds.
Safes
Moved on heavy-duty equipment and secured on the truck lift. Empty it first if you can. It’s lighter and safer.
Hot tubs
Drained and disconnected beforehand, then moved out along the route we planned with you.
“I first used them to help me move a fridge up an impossibly narrow stairway with a bend. They did such a great job I used them again.”
Moving a single heavy item? That’s a job on its own. You don’t need to be moving house to book us.
Heavy-item questions
What do you need to know to quote a piano?
Upright or grand, the size if you know it, and the route: stairs, steps, tight turns and where it’s going. A photo helps.
Do I need to drain my hot tub first?
Yes. Have it drained and the power disconnected by a qualified person before we arrive.
Can you move just one heavy item?
Yes. Single pianos, safes, hot tubs and appliances are jobs on their own, with no full move required.
